Elks to celebrate football community at annual dinner

The Edmonton Elks are celebrating the football community at their annual dinner on Sept. 26 at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.

Monday evening’s festivities will include the presentation of the Green and Gold’s amateur football awards.

Edmonton Huskies running back Christian Pulis is the 2022 recipient of the Wes Montgomery Award, a scholarship recognizing excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Junior players Ethan Hartman and Kevin Hessell will receive the Community Member of the Year award for the Edmonton Huskies and Edmonton Wildcats, respectively.

Provincial teams being acknowledged for their achievement of the past year include the Team Alberta U16 Co-Ed Flag, Team Alberta U16 Boys, Team Alberta U18 Girls, Team Alberta U18 Boys, Team Alberta U18 Blue, Team Alberta U18 Flag Girls.

The Edmonton Elks Annual Dinner also include dinner with Elks players and coaches and a ceremony for 2022 EE Wall of Honour inductees Jim Germany, Joe Hollimon, and Ed Jones.
