Arceneaux can make more history in Elks’ season finale

The last two and a half months have been historic for Edmonton Elks wide receiver Manny Arceneaux, who has produced milestone moments on a more or less semi-weekly basis.

From climbing the all-time receiving leaderboards to extending his pass-catching streak, the legendary receiver has used the second half of the 2023 CFL season to cement his status among the game’s greats.

With his current career totals of 644 receptions and 9,200 receiving yards, the 36-year-old can make more history in Edmonton’s final game of 2023, tonight (Oct. 21) against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at IG Field.

Arceneaux needs just two catches to move in front of Travis Moore for 19th place in CFL history, and he is five catches away from tying Tom Scott, a member of the EE Wall of Honour, for 18th spot. Meanwhile, with 49 receiving yards, the Louisiana native would pass Jim Young for 28th most in the league record book.

Another milestone or two would just punctuate what has already been a spectacular history-making run by the veteran of 11 CFL seasons.
