While the Argos are yet to taste defeat at home this season, winning all seven of their games at BMO Field, Toronto has become a favoured destination of the Green and Gold, who have their last two road games against the Argos, 13-7 in 2021 and 41-26 in 2019.

As the Elks return to action following a bye in Week 17, the team is looking to regain the momentum it enjoyed while riding a stretch of four wins in five games before being defeated 37-29 by the BC Lions at Commonwealth Stadium in Week 16.

The defending Grey Cup champion Argos have been the class of the CFL in 2023. Not only does Toronto have the league’s best record, at 12-2,  they’ve already clinched first place in the East Division.

In Week3, the Argos defeated Edmonton 43-31 at Commonwealth Stadium in a wild affair that saw the Elks score the first and last two touchdowns of the game, while Toronto scored 25 consecutive points from the start of the second half.

The Elks are a different team since that early part of the season, however, with a 4-3 record since Tre Ford took over as starting quarterback. The second-year pivot from Waterloo is among the league leaders for quarterbacks in passing accuracy (70.1%), QB rating (108.7) and rushing yards (514).

With a win Friday, Edmonton can move in front of the Calgary Stampeders for fourth place in the CFL West Division and close the gap on the third-place Saskatchewan Roughriders for a potential late playoff push.
