Elks sign Dream Experience kids to one-day contracts

The Edmonton Elks made two special additions to their lineup on Monday.

Through the Kids with Cancer Society‘s Dream Experience program, the Green and Gold signed Anton Massini, 11, and Mayer Tiggelaar, 10, to one-day contracts.

Massini and Tiggelaar met with Elks assistant general manager Geroy Simon for their contract signing.  They then toured the stadium, attended practice and met with their new Elks teammates.

“We are very pleased to welcome Anton and Mayer to the Elks organization,” says Simon. “We know they will have a powerful impact on our club.”

The Kids with Cancer Society provides unique, vital programs and services free of charge to children and families residing in Northern Alberta and the NWT.

Dream Experiences are unique opportunities offered to Kids with Cancer Society families, giving diagnosed children the chance to be part of something magical that will create happy memories for them and their families.

Both Massini and Tiggelaar are undergoing treatment for Leukemia, cancer in the white blood cells.

“The Kids with Cancer society is so grateful for the continued support of the Edmonton Elks and dedication to the children and families we serve,” says Chelsea Draeger Hughes, CEO of the Kids with Cancer Society.
