Elks announce COVID-19 safety measures for Sept. 18 game

In response to the latest health measures enacted by the Government of Alberta, the Edmonton Elks are implementing enhanced safety measures for fans attending the club’s game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday, September 18. The new requirements, which are aimed to safeguard fans, come after careful consultation with the City of Edmonton.

  • All fans 12 and older will be required to provide one of the following upon arrival at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium:
    • Proof of a minimum of one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
      • Approved forms of proof include: Alberta (or other province’s) online health records (screenshot, or web based), or official documentation from your vaccination appointment.
    • Official documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result (PCR or rapid antigen) from within 72 hours of game time (test dated no older than 7:45 p.m. MT on Wednesday, September 15).

NOTE: Along with proof of vaccination, or a negative test result, fans may also be asked to provide photo ID.

“We would like to thank our fans for their understanding and cooperation as we implement these new safety measures,” said Elks President and CEO Chris Presson. “We’re sure our fans will rise to the occasion again this weekend, as we collectively do what’s right for our football family and the broader community.”

These enhanced measures, coupled with the continued requirement for fans to wear masks and social distance when not in their seats, will help provide the safest environment possible.

The previously announced requirement for fans to be fully vaccinated will come into effect on October 15
