Brown was originally drafted by the EE Football Team in the 5th round (41 overall) in the 2020 CFL Draft. Brown attended Fort Hays State from 2017 to 2019 appearing in 35 games. He made 47-56 field goals (56-yard longest), 134 punts for 5,684 yards (42.4-yard average), and 91 kickoffs for 5,339 yards (58.7-yard average). He was named the Don Hansen Football Committee National Special Teams Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019, the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019, a 2018 and 2019 All-American First-Team D2CCA.
