Mike Reilly and D’haquille Williams Named CFL Players of the Week

Eskimos quarterback  Mike Reilly and receiver D’haquille (Duke) Williams are CFL Players for the Week for Week 13 for their performances in Edmonton’s 48-42 victory over the Calgary Stampeders last Saturday.

Reilly helped lead the Green and Gold to their seventh win of the season when he threw for 397 yards and three touchdowns, completing 30 of 44 pass attempts. He also finished with eight carries for 43 yards and three touchdowns. Reilly is the first Eskimos quarterback to both throw and run for three touchdowns in one game.

Reilly continues to lead the league in passing yards with 3,943 and passing touchdowns with 26. He also has league lead in rushing touchdown with 11.

Williams added seven receptions for a career-high 172 yards and one touchdown to his league-leading 1,235 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Williams has caught touchdown passes in four consecutive games and currently has eight 100-yard receiving games this season – the Eskimos all-time record was set by Brandon Zylstra last season with 10.

This is the sixth time Reilly has received national honours this season – He was previously named a CFL Player of the Week for Weeks 1, 7 and 10. He was also CFL Player of the Month for June and August.

This is the fourth time Williams has received national honours this season – He was previously named a CFL Player of the Week for Week 5 He was also CFL Player of the Month for June and July.

CFL Players of the Week are chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
