(Edmonton) – The Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team will hold their final auditions today, Sunday, March 10, at 1 p.m. at Perfect Storm Athletics. The tryouts are open to the public and fans are encouraged to stop by to watch Cheer Team hopefuls vie for a coveted spot of this year’s squad.

The audition process started in mid-February and included both dance tryouts and interview sessions. The stunt team was chosen earlier this week and the dance team will undergo their final round of tryouts on Sunday.  The women auditioning will perform two dances each and the final team will be posted immediately following the auditions.

Among the panel of judges will be our very own long snapper Ryan King and play-by-play announcer Morley Scott. His third consecutive year as a judge, Morley tweeted earlier this week:  “Just got 1 of my favorite emails of the year Asking me to help select @EsksCheerTeam for 2013 1 pm at Perfect storm on Sunday #bejealous”

In addition to the 10 home games and Grey Cup, the Eskimo Cheer Team performs at over 250 venues throughout the year and volunteer hundreds of service hours to community events.
