(Edmonton) Former Eskimo defensive back Shannon Garrett has joined the University of Alberta coaching staff.
Garrett, who most recently coached with the Edmonton Huskies, played 14 seasons in the CFL, including nine (2000 to 2008) as a member of the Eskimos. He won a pair of Grey Cups with Edmonton (2003, 2005) and was a two-time CFL West Division All-Star (2001, 2003).
Garrett joins a Golden Bear coaching staff comprised of several former Eskimos, including recent additions Chris Morris (Head Coach), Rick Walters (Offensive Coordinator) and Tim Prinsen (Offensive Line).
