Esks mourn the passing of Bill Hortie

(Edmonton)  It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the Eskimos acknowledge the passing of Bill Hortie.  

Bill attended UBC and began his CFL career as a member of the Edmonton Eskimos in 1950 where he played in 14 games for the Green and Gold. Following his time with Edmonton, Hortie spent time as a member of the BC Lions. Bill was an active member with both the Edmonton Eskimo Alumni association, as well as the BC Lions Alumni.

He is survived by his life partner Anne Landry and sons Reed and Carter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 17 at 2 p.m. at the Pemberton Legion (7442 Prospect Street – Pemberton, British Colombia).
