Kylee’s Blog – Eskimo Cheer Team
We have been busier than ever teaching the cheers and sideline routines to all of the rookies, the newest members of the Eskimo Cheer Team. There is so much to learn when you first make the team because the Eskimo Cheer Team performs for the entire football game, whether it is on the sidelines or on the field. There are many details to get straight in order to look as uniform and professional as possible. Although our practices are long and hard, they are also filled with laughter and camaraderie and we truly feel like a united team.
We have also been very busy working on our Unveiling routines, the dances and stunting combinations we will do when the Eskimo Cheer Team performs for the very first time this season at The Ranch Roadhouse this Friday evening. Our coach has grouped us with other members of the team and we are responsible for our own choreography. We meet outside of our regularly scheduled practices to work on our routines and ensure they are polished and ready to go when we present our new Cheer Team to the public for the very first time on June 8.
This is a great opportunity for certain members to show their particular talents which they might not really get to highlight during the football season. We all love seeing what the other members of our team will come up with and we feel so proud of each and every member of the team as each fantastic routine is performed in front of the cheering audience composed of family members, friends, and die-hard Edmonton Eskimo fans.
This will be an exciting season for our cheer team and we believe it is one of the strongest teams we have ever had! We are looking forward to showing the fans at Commonwealth Stadium who we are and we are ready to introduce ourselves at our official Unveiling. We would like to invite everyone to come to our 6th Annual Unveiling Party at The Ranch Roadhouse on June 8 at 8:00 pm. Tickets, which can be purchased from all team members or from the Eskimo Fan Shop, are ten dollars each and include entrance and one free drink. Proceeds from this event go to cover expenses incurred by the volunteer team throughout the season. We hope to see you there!
