The Eskimos finished the season with a 9-9 record, winning seven games at home. The club finished fifth in the West and failed to make the playoffs.

Quarterback Mike Reilly led the CFL in passing yards with 5,562 yards on 418 completions – he also threw 30 touchdowns and rushed 595 yards and 13 touchdowns on 120 carries. Reilly was named the CFL Top Performer for the Month of June.

Running back C.J. Gable eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career (1,063), Receiver D’haquille (Duke) Williams lead the CFL in receiving yards (1,579) and tied the league lead with 11 receiving touchdowns. Williams was named a CFL All-Star for the first time in his career.

Hank Ilesic is inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
