2012 Edmonton Eskimos
The Eskimos finish with an 7-11 record and end their season in the Eastern Division Semi-Final cross over game with a 42-26 loss to the eventual Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts. Linebacker JC Sherritt made a league-leading and record-setting 130 defensive tackles. He was named Defensive Player of the Week four times and Defensive Player of the Month three times en route to winning the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Rookie defensive back Joe Burnett is named a CFL All-Star after recording six interceptions, two touchdowns and 50 total tackles.
On December 10, two-time Grey Cup champion and former CFL all-star Ed Hervey was named Eskimos general manager.
Damon Allen is inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
