Under new head coach Kavis Reed, the Green and Gold start the season 5-0 and would finish 11-7, second in the West and host their first playoff game since 2004. The club won their Semifinal game against the Calgary Stampeders but would lose in the West Final to the B.C. Lions.

Jerome Messam is the named Most Outstanding Canadian and linebacker JC Sherritt was a CFL West finalist for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie.

Rookie defensive lineman Marcus Howard had a team high 11 sacks and was named a CFL West All-Star.

On December 2, quarterback Ricky Ray was traded to the Toronto Argonauts for Steven Jyles, Grant Shaw and a draft pick.

Sean Fleming, Larry Wruck and Bob Turner are added to the Wall of Honour.

Gerry Fracas (Builder), Don Matthews (Builder), Danny McManus, Joe Montford, and Terry Vaughn are inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
