2001 Edmonton Eskimos
Edmonton finishes atop the Western Division for the first time since 1997 with a record of 9-9 under new head coach Tom Higgins and quarterback Jason Maas. The club would lose to the Calgary Stampeders in the West Final by a score 34-16. Maas led the offense, passing for 3,646 yards and Terry Vaughn had 98 catches for 1,497 yards. Defensive tackle Robert Brown had six sacks for the defence.
Warren Moon is inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and added to the Edmonton Eskimos Wall of Honour.
James Parker is also inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Joe Healy and Jim Hole are added to the Wall of Honour as contributors.
