Edmonton would win their 11th Grey Cup with a 33-23 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. Sean Fleming is named the Grey Cup’s Most Outstanding Canadian after scoring 21 points in the big game and Damon Allen is named Grey Cup MVP.

During their 10-6 season, Damon Allen and receiver Eddie Brown led the way for the offence, while defensively, Bennie Goods had 14 sacks for a group that created 73 turnovers to lead league in the regular season. Edmonton would win eight straight games, including playoffs to finish the year.

After six productive seasons (1978-83) at slotback with the Green and Gold, Tom Scott is added to the Wall of Honour.
