In Joe Faragalli’s last season as head coach, the team would go 10-8 and finish second in the West Division. They would go on to defeat the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West Semifinal and the Calgary Stampeders in West Final to head to the 78th Grey Cup against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Edmonton would fall 50-11 to the Blue Bombers.

Tracy Ham passed for 4,286 yards and ran for a team-best 1,096 yards, while Stewart Hill led the defence with 17 sacks.

Hugh Campbell, Bryan Hall, Norm Kimball are added to the Wall of Honour and Dave Fennell and Eagle Keys (Builder) are inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
