Third times a charm for the Double E, as in 1975 they would go on to win the 63rd Grey Cup, defeating the Montreal Alouettes 9-8 in the first ever prairie Grey Cup in Calgary. It would be their fourth Grey Cup championship. Rookie linebacker Dan Kepley joined the team halfway through season from the Dallas Cowboys and was brilliant in the championship game. Kicker Dave Cutler would score all the points for Edmonton, going 3-for-3 on field goals.

Led by Tom Wilkinson, the Green and Gold finished in first place in the West for the third straight season (12-4). George McGowan would have a career best 1,472 receiving yards and would get his second CFL All-Star nod, while Roy Bell would rush for over 1,000 yards for the third year in a row.
