In 1961, the Eskimos finished second in the CFL’s western conference with a record of 10-5-1 and lost in the conference semifinal to the Calgary Stampeders. Johnny Bright ran for a team-best 1,350 yards and quarterbacks Jackie Parker and Don Getty combined for 19 touchdown passes. Oscar Kruger had six interceptions for the defence.
