In the second season under Keys and first with new general manager Joe Ryan, the club would once again finish with a record of 10-6 and second in the WIFU. After defeating the Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West playoffs, they would head to their fifth Grey Cup since 1949, falling to the Ottawa Rough Riders 16-6 at Empire Stadium in Vancouver.

Jackie Parker wins his third Schenley award, recognizing the Most Outstanding Player in the CFL. Parker had 668 rushing yards and 1,613 passing yards along with 14 combined touchdowns.
