Sam Lyle becomes Edmonton’s head coach, leading the team to a 9-6-1 record, losing in the West Final to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Jackie Parker wins the Schenley award for the second season in a row after throwing for 1,908 yards and eight touchdowns, while rushing for over 400 yards. Johnny Bright is the CFL’s top rusher for the second consecutive season and Rollie Miles had 10 interceptions.
