Frank Filchock was named player-coach. The Eskimos finished the season with a 9-6 record and would play in their first Grey Cup game against the Toronto Argonauts, losing 21-11 at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. Quarterback Claude Arnold and Joe Aguirre led the offence, while Mike King led the ground attack with 562 rushing yards.
