In 2021, appeared in 14 regular season games (started 8) and started his first CFL game in Week 7 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Cornelius had a career high 334 passing yards and threw his first CFL touchdown in a Week 9 game in Ottawa.
Cornelius attended Green Bay Packers rookie camp before signing with the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL in 2020.
He ranks inside the top 10 in several OSU football records including: single game passing yards (501) and touchdowns (5), single season passing yards (3,978) and touchdowns (32), and career passing yards (4,198) and passing touchdowns (32).
In 2018, responsible for 42 TD’s (32 passing, 10 rushing), a single-season mark that ranks third in OSU history behind Mason Rudolph (47 in 2017) and Barry Sanders (44 in 1988).
2022: (Edmonton) Started 12 games, completing 205-of-357 passes for 2,768 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He also led the Elks in rushing with 502 yards on 71 carries and seven touchdowns.
2021: (Edmonton) Played in nine games for the Elks, going 143-of-247 for 1,795 yards, with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Cornelius also rushed for 149 yards on 21 carries.
2020: (Tampa Bay) Appeared in five games (four starts) for the Vipers. Completed 78 of 123 passes for 858 yards, with four touchdowns and six interceptions.
2019: Signed with the Green Bay Packers and attended rookie camp but did not make the final roster.
