RECEIVERS COACH

One of the franchises all-time greats is back in Edmonton.

Tucker returns for a third stint with the Double E’s coaching staff after beginning his coaching career with the club from 2009 to 2010 as a receivers coach. The San Francisco, California native joins Edmonton after a successful tenure with the BC Lions that saw several receivers hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark including: Justin McInnis (2024), Alexander Hollins (2023), Keon Hatcher (2023, 2022), Dominique Rhymes (2022), and Lucky Whitehead (2022).

He joined the Lions after a season with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2019 where both Greg Ellingson and Ricky Collins Jr. both recorded over 1,000 yards receiving under his tutelage.

In 2018, Tucker was the Receivers Coach for the Montreal Alouettes where he oversaw the emergence of Eugene Lewis as a CFL star – finishing inside the top 15 in receiving yards in his first full CFL season. Tucker had spent the 2015 and 2016 season in his lone NFL coaching stint, where he served as an Assistant Receivers Coach.

Tucker won his lone Grey Cup as a coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2013, leading a receivers room that had three players eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark in Chris Getzlaf, Weston Dressler, and Taj Smith. He would coach with the Roughriders for three seasons from 2012-2014.

His receiving expertise was developed through his sensational professional career that saw Tucker get drafted in the sixth-round of the National Football League Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent two season with the Dallas Cowboys where he still holds the club record for all-purpose yards in a single game with 331 set on Christmas Eve 1999 against the New Orleans Saints.

Tucker would go on to have a seven-year career with the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League, winning two Grey Cups and finishing his career seventh all-time in club history for receiving yards with 7,046.
