Celebrating Amateur Football and Cheer Coaches
The CFL’s commitment to the game extends beyond the professional level. Amateur football and cheer coaches play a critical role in developing athletes, building character, and strengthening communities. These coaches are often the first mentors young athletes encounter, instilling values of teamwork, resilience, inclusion, and leadership that last far beyond the field or mat.
As part of the celebration, outstanding amateur football and cheer coaches from the Edmonton community will be recognized for their impact on athletes and programs at the grassroots level. Nominations for these local coaching honours are now open, providing an opportunity to celebrate the individuals who are shaping the future of sport in our region. Amateur coaching awards include:
- High School Football Coach of the Year
- Flag Football Coach of the Year
- Minor Football Coach of the Year
- Scholastic Cheer Coach of the Year
- All-Star Cheer Coach of the Year
