TRANSACTION | Edmonton signs Shane Hooks (WR)

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Elks have signed American Shane Hooks (WR), the club announced Saturday.

Hooks spent the 2023 season at Auburn University, appearing in 13 games for the Tigers, recording 10 receptions for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to joining Auburn, the Florida native played two seasons at Jackson State (2021-22), racking up 82 catches for 974 yards and 12 touchdowns. He began his college career at Ohio University (2018-20).

Hooks also participated in the 2024 Trillion Tropical Bowl, a premier FBS Division I level College Football All-Star Game played in Orlando, Florida. 

2024 marks the 75th season of pro football in Edmonton, as the Elks open a new CFL campaign on Saturday, June 8 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium. Season tickets are available now, with all youth season tickets $75 (17 and under) and adult tickets starting at $175.
