The Edmonton Elks have signed American defensive back Darrius Bratton (DB), the club announced Wednesday.
Bratton is embarking on his pro career following five seasons of NCAA Division 1 football at the University of Virginia. The Roanoke, Va., native appeared in 52 games for the Cavaliers, compiling 77 total tackles, one tackle for loss, 0.5 sacks and 14 passes defended.
The six-foot-zero Bratton impressed at Virginia’s pro day in March, when he recorded 38.5″ in the vertical jump, 11’3″ mark in the board jump, and clocked a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash. He was included on the 2023 rookie minicamp roster for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.
