The Edmonton Elks announced Sunday that the club has signed American Mekhai Johnson (RB) and released National Gabriel Appiah-Kubi (WR). The Elks also placed National Kevin Francis (LB) and American Martez Ivey (OL) on the suspended list.

Appiah-Kubi attended rookie camp with the Elks. The receiver from York University signed with the Green and Gold on May 5.

Ivey suited up for 15 games with the Elks in the 2022 CFL season. The former Florida Gators lineman began his CFL career in 2021 with the Toronto Argonauts.
