Elks Join 630 CHED in Celebrating Career of Bryan Hall

19.06.14 - Edmonton Eskimos vs Montreal

The Green and Gold join 630 CHED and sports fans around Edmonton in paying tribute to iconic broadcaster Bryan Hall.

The longtime voice of the Green and the Gold, who has been on the airwaves for 70 years, is moving from daily to weekly contributions on CHED, the radio flagship of the Edmonton Elks.

Hall serves as CHED’s ambassador for Elks games at Commonwealth Stadium, where he has led fans in a singalong of the team’s fight song, the greatest tradition in Edmonton sports.

For 40 seasons until 2009, Hall handled play-by-play on EE radio broadcasts. His voice provided soundtrack to many signature moments in club history, including the Green and Gold’s historic run of five consecutive Grey Cup championships between 1978 and 1982.

Hall was enshrined in the Canadian Football of Fame as part of the class of 1989. The media centre at Commonwealth Stadium is named in Hall’s honour.

Fans can catch Hall on CHED’s new morning show, This Morning with J’lyn Nye and Daryl McIntyre.
