The iconic Double E’s officially returned to the Edmonton Elks’ helmets yesterday and reaction across social media began to flood in. The hype began earlier in the day after a week long teaser campaign which highlighted some of the best helmets in franchise history. The excitement from the Green and Gold fans prior to the reveal was palpable.

Once the helmets were revealed. The love from fans, players, alumni and media poured in. Fans loved the modern yet iconic look, almost as much as they loved the voice-over supplied by EE alumni Jed Roberts. The Double E logo had been worn with many different iterations since the 1960s and while the Antler look from 2021 proved popular during the club’s rebranding, people who grew up and wore the classic logo were ecstatic with the new direction.
