As a junior at Tuskegee University last season, linebacker Wesly Appolon recorded 61 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 11 games for the Golden Tigers. He previously spent his sophomore season at Butler Community College in 2019, registering 34 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks in 11 games, after starting his National Junior College Athletic Association career at Highland Community College in 2018.

Tre Ford swept university footballโ€™s top honours last season, winning both the U Sports and OUA most outstanding player awards in 2021 while being named an All-Canadian and First-Team OUA All-Star. In six games, the Waterloo quarterback completed 63.4 per cent of his passes for 1465 yards and 10 touchdowns, while adding 629 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. Ford was the only quarterback included on the CFL Scouting Bureauโ€™s final list of the top 20 prospects eligible for the 2022 CFL Draft, ranking fourth.

10:28 a.m. Rafael Gaglianone played at the University of Wisconsin from 2014 to 2018, where he was named All-Big Team Second Team in 2017 and Freshman All-Big Ten in 2014.

10:26 a.m. With the 17th pick in the 2022 CFL Draft, the Edmonton Elks have selected place kicker Rafael Gaglianone from Brazil.

10:25 a.m. Meet the newest (and one of the tallest) Elk:

10:21 a.m. Ben Griffiths was a prospect for last week’s NFL Draft.

10:18 a.m. In his junior year at USC last season, Griffiths averaged 45.0 yards on his 44 punts in 2021, of which 17 pinned opponents within the 20, 11 traveled 50-plus yards (with a 71-yarder) and only 5 were touchbacks. He was 22nd nationally in punting (45.0, fourth in Pac-12). He made 2021 All-Pac-12 honorable mention, Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 first team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 fourth team. He wonย USCโ€™s 2021 Special Teams Player of the Year Award and was a team co-captain.
